As the year draws to a close, it’s natural to pause, reflect, and review. We revisit the trips we’ve taken, the connections we’ve strengthened, and even the challenges we’ve faced. Gratitude often takes center stage during this reflection, reminding us of the people and moments that shaped our year.

This year, I am particularly thankful for my mother. She fought—and triumphed—over breast cancer. Watching her complete her treatment and emerge cancer-free has been nothing short of inspiring. I’m also deeply grateful for my siblings, especially my sisters, who provided unwavering support as caregivers during this difficult journey. Caregivers are often the unsung heroes, giving their time, love, and energy when it’s needed most. Their contributions remind us that life isn’t just about the highlights but also about navigating challenges and overcoming adversity.

Speaking of highlights, 2024 brought many experiences to celebrate. My travels to Colorado stand out. From the breathtaking Red Rocks to the serene Flatirons in Boulder, the open roads surrounded by mountains offered a sense of freedom and connection to nature. Another memorable trip was to Washington, D.C., a city that left a lasting impression on me. I discovered its walkability, which rivals even New York City—a rarity among large metropolitan areas. Exploring D.C. reinforced my appreciation for cities designed with accessibility in mind. Speaking of New York City, I could finally attend a playoff game 7 – with the Knicks versus the Indiana Pacers. We weren’t victorious, but sharing the experience with my younger brother is something I will appreciate.

Professionally, 2024 was a strong year in sales and advertising. Sales often intimidate people because of the ups and downs or the misconception that it’s about persuading someone to want something they don’t need. In reality, sales is about uncovering a client’s needs and aligning them with the right product or service. It’s this dynamic problem-solving that makes the field so rewarding.

One of the year’s most cherished moments was officiating my brother’s wedding. It was an honor to stand with him and his wife, surrounded by family and friends. Seeing our father’s pride was particularly meaningful—it was a moment that underscored how far we’ve come as a family and as individuals.

On a spiritual level, 2024 brought me closer to my faith in Jesus Christ. I’ve come to recognize that, whether in abundance or adversity, God is always present. Faith can be challenging—it involves grappling with the unknown and the unseen—but it also offers hope and a sense of something greater beyond ourselves. For me, that sense of greater purpose comes from God’s love and grace.

Now, what’s your resolution? Writing New Year’s resolutions is a great way to set your focus and get motivated for the year ahead. It’s a chance to think about what’s important to you, what you want to improve, and what goals you want to reach. Resolutions help you stay on track and give you something to aim for, whether it’s getting healthier, building stronger relationships, or growing in your career. It’s really about committing to yourself and creating a plan to keep getting better.

As I look ahead to 2025, I’m focusing on growth in all areas of life: professional development, personal health, and mental well-being. I aim to create new experiences with friends and family while continuing to strengthen my faith. The new year isn’t about becoming a “new me”; it’s about refining the person I already am—becoming a better version of myself through perseverance and gratitude.

So here’s to 2025: a year of abundance, resilience, and transformation. Let’s embrace it together, building on the lessons and blessings of the past to create an even brighter future.
