What’s the quickest way to get depressed? Go to a dark room or closet, sit down Indian style with your legs crossed and hands rested over them, and remain there for 12 hours. You’ll be depressed immediately! Similarly, what’s the quickest way to kill a plant? Repeat the same action! Surprisingly, there’s a commonality between both scenarios – you and plants both need the sun for survival. Period! There is no mystery behind this assumption.

The Sun’s got a bad rep as of late. Yet, in modern society, we are taught from a young age that the Sun is bad for us. We are warned that the Sun can harm us and even be our enemy. While I sympathize with those who have suffered from cancer or adverse effects due to excess sunlight, I want to emphasize that this is not expert medical advice. It’s based on my own personal experiences and research aka Google. It’s important to remember that too much of anything can have adverse effects.

With anything in life, moderation is key! What I do know is that there are many examples where moderation has its benefits. Take steak, for example. I love steak, and I enjoy the B vitamins and iron it provides for my body and muscles. But too much steak and no veggies might leave me constipated. Or worse it can lead to heart disease. How about sugar? Whether it’s good or bad for you depends on the type of sugar you consume. Are you having fruits filled with rich antioxidants, or are you indulging in ice cream sundaes from your local shop? Personally, I enjoy both, but in moderation.

Now, how does this relate to the Sun? It’s simple. You have to find the balance of what your body needs. It’s constantly speaking to you, so listen to it. Too much Sun can potentially harm you, so seeking medical advice is crucial if you have a serious skin or general health condition. However, no Sun at all is not the alternative either. You have to find the balance between receiving the benefits of this life force while also protecting yourself.

The Sun is a superfood and plays a pivotal role in our survival. The Sun is how life can survive on Earth. It helps us rise in the mornings, giving us energy throughout the day. It provides essential nutrients like vitamin D, which promotes the production of mood-enhancing chemicals in your body and strengthens your bones. Without the Sun, it’s hard to focus when you’re depressed and weak. All life forms need the Sun. What makes us any different?

Let’s embrace this God-given resource that is free and provides so many benefits to us. Instead of sounding the alarm about the potential risks of the Sun, I want to dedicate this message to embracing sunlight. If you live in a place like Seattle where it’s constantly raining, consider supplementing with vitamin D or try red light therapy or a vitamin D bed at a health facility. These artificial methods can provide some of the benefits of the Sun, and you’ll be surprised at how effective they can be.

Of course, nothing beats enjoying the natural Sun on a beach or in nature filled with trees and dirt from the Earth. You not only get the electrical charge from the ocean and ground but also the benefits of the Sun rays. The amount of sun exposure you can handle in one serving depends on your body. Personally, I like to sit in the Sun for 20 to 30 minutes without sunscreen. If I plan on staying in the Sun for hours without an umbrella, I then apply sunscreen after receiving the direct rays on my skin. The reason I do this is because it’s important to get sun exposure without other chemicals intervening.

So, listen up! Get some Sun in your life. Obsorb that vitamin D. It’ll help with your mood and potentially improve your mental health. Plus, getting out of the house, out of that dark closet, moving your body, and getting some sunlight at the beach or nature will instantly give you a charge and enhance your day!

Give it a try. What’s the worst that could happen? You begin to feel better, operating at a higher vibration and frequency. That sounds intriguing and something I would definitely experiment with. What’s the alternative, do nothing and remain sedentary? Sun exposure is the best way to get moving and a step towards feeling happier and living your best life. So get after it.

God bless!
